Wolves Making Deep Run into Playoffs

in Sports by

Varsity volleyball is off to a great start in the postseason play. The Lady Wolves have played well in all of their games thus far. They have been solid on the court this year, landing them a spot in the GHSA Class 2A.

With a big win against Gordon Lee, the Lady Wolves have earned a chance at revenge for last year’s playoff loss against Lovett. Lovett, a historically strong team, knocked Wesleyan out of the playoffs last year, and is back for more yet again.

The Wolves, however, have different plans for their October schedule. With the addition of young talent, the Wolves have played outstanding from top to bottom due to strong leadership from Maddie Jones and Jenny Van Laeke.

Due to the incredible teamwork and consistency, the Wolves have worked through this season with minimal injuries, and high win totals. With Abbey Gritters assisting, Jones and Van Laeke have been strong at the front net, earning a multitude of kills in each game.

Although the year is winding down for the Lady Wolves, there is still chances for the fans to get to game and see them compete. Wesleyan will be hosting Lovett today, October 28th at 6pm in Yancey Gym. It is a GHSA playoff game, so there will be admission costs, but Wesleyan encourages all Wesleyan lovers to go out and see their Wolves fight.
