Visual Performance Ensemble Prepares for Winter Competitions

One of the most successful programs at Wesleyan is none other than the Visual Performance Ensemble.

The Visual Performance Ensemble was formerly known as “Winter Guard.” When asked why he changed the name, marching band director Jeff Foster responded, “We wanted to rebrand the activity so that girls with dance backgrounds would know that another performance opportunity and outlet exists for them; for those not interested in spinning a flag or using equipment like rifles and sabers, dance is an option in this activity as well.” The Visual Performance Ensemble has been very successful over the last few years winning numerous awards.
