New Town Center Brings Excitement to Wesleyan

The Peachtree Corners Town Center is in motion. The town center is planned to be built across from the Forum, by where Sprouts and Zoës Kitchen is located.

When interviewed, Jennifer Howard, the Volunteers Administrator of Peachtree Corners, said “The town center is going to begin construction in December and it is expected to take 18 months; so that means by spring 2018 we should see the town center finished.” The town center will hold restaurants, shops and an outdoor amphitheater. “[It will be] a family-friendly community,” Howard said.

Wolf Players Rehearse “Godspell” Revival

The Wesleyan Wolf Players are proud to present the classic musical Godspell premiering Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. and closing Friday, Oct. 28.

Although the Wolf Players have performed Godspell previously in 2002 and 2009, Wesleyan has never seen this upcoming rendition. Director Steven Broyles explains that the version performed in 2009 was the original Broadway version, and the adaptation they are rehearsing now is the 2012 revival version. With rewritten music that sounds more modern, the musical is able to better resonate with adolescent audiences.

Chorus Hits a High Note

From everyday classes to on-stage performances, the Wesleyan Chorus has been working to perfect their talents. They sing all types of music from today’s top hits, sacred music and even some old classics. In the past two years, chorus has doubled in size which gives them “a very different and more solid sound” according to choral director Brock Derringer.

Water Polo Splashes into Club Season

With fall sports in full swing, water polo returned to the Davidson Natatorium for the 2016 season. Often overshadowed by the other sports competing this season, water polo’s dominance and impressive statistics have gained them much recognition.

The team, led by Coach Kevin Kadzis, is currently on a three-game winning streak after a victory against Pace. Returning senior James Claffey, added in an exclamatory fashion that the Wolves are in fact undefeated. With a current record of 4-0, it appears that this season should be one for the books.

Wolves Battle New Rivals in Class A

Now that Wesleyan has moved down to class A, Greater Atlanta Christian is no longer the prevailing rival for the Wolves. While there will always be tension between Wesleyan and GAC, the rivalry will no longer be settled on a field or a court. Because Wesleyan will no longer play GAC for a championship, each sport has had to choose a new team to focus on defeating. Keep Reading
