  4. What is your most embarrassing moment? Growing up I always felt the need to live up to the intellectual standards my brother had set with his extensive knowledge of weird facts. So, I let my family know, in front of a whole group of people, that a dog that was up for adoption was blind because she had blue eyes. One of the volunteers was very quick to loudly deny my “alternative fact” as she had seen the flood of people begin to dissipate because they all heard my idiocy and did not want the task of caring for a blind dog that was not actually blind. If you know my family, then you know that they were very quick to start making fun of me. In the end, I was red in the face and still inferior to my brother, but I truly hope that dog got adopted and that lady rued the day she embarrassed me.

  3. Who was your first Wesleyan crush? Caroline Johnson in first grade.
  4. What is your most embarrassing moment? Considering I pull into campus five minutes before the bell every day, I’m quite familiar with employing a brisk walk or jog to get to class on time. One rainy, moist day junior year I had just seconds to spare before the tardy bell would give off its subtle chime. I was in a full sprint down the science hall on the first floor and right before I reached the stairs my dependable Sperry Topsiders lost traction and I just ate it. I willed myself back up and continued onward, thinking no one had seen me. As I began my ascent to Josh Smith’s class, I heard laughter behind me but could not turn around to see who it was. It’s just the not knowing part that kills me.

  9. What do you hope your life will be like in 10 years? I’ll be grinding away at some big accounting or finance firm paying off an ill-advised auto loan while also putting a little money away to purchase a used boat. I’ll be living in the Greater Metro Atlanta Area, preferably in DeKalb or Fulton. Odds are I will have a dog named Diesel.
  10. Assuming you had 24 hours to live, what would you do with your remaining hours? I’d pay final respects to my local McDonald’s, Willy’s, and Taco Bell for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (respectively). I’d try and take out a big life insurance policy on myself. If I am unable to, I will then put all my money on the over for the biggest sporting event on that fateful day. Other than that, I’ll just kind of chill out and if people want to drop by they certainly can. I’d hate to be super high maintenance about the whole thing.

  3. Who was your first Wesleyan crush? James Claffey at new student orientation in 6th grade
  4. What is your most embarrassing moment? This isn’t at Wesleyan, but in 4th grade I was destroying everyone in dodgeball. I got overconfident, I think, since I was the only one left on my side. So, I was diving for a ball and ripped my pants. Everyone was looking at me, it was the loudest tear ever, and they all started laughing. I had to go to the clinic and call my mom to get her to bring me a new pair of pants…people decided it would be hilarious to ask me for the rest of the day why I changed, even though they all knew. So yeah. Super embarrassing…at least I won the dodgeball game, right? Priorities.

  9. What do you hope your life will be like in 10 years? Hopefully I’ll be done with school (undergrad and grad school), have a good job, be married, and maybe have a kid or two. I’m basically going to be one of the super fit AAC moms with a Range Rover.
  10. Assuming you had 24 hours to live, what would you do with your remaining hours? I’d spend the entire time outside and get as many of my friends to go with me as possible – we’d go hiking, water skiing and snow skiing (though I’m not entirely sure how I’d do the last two in the same day). I would eat an entire tub of Blue Bell ice cream by myself. I’d also probably get some sushi and chicken wings at some point.

William Thurston

  2. What were you involved with in high school? Lacrosse, Cross Country, Model Arab League and Chapel Band.
  3. Who was your first Wesleyan crush? Lauren Alexander.
  4. What is your most embarrassing moment? During football in 9th grade, I was constipated for almost 2 weeks. It got to the point where I couldn’t even do a light jog. I ended up telling Coach Pridgen that I needed to sit out of practice, and he ended up announcing to the whole locker room that I was as extremely constipated. I will never eat Arby’s again.
  5. What is one thing you wish you had done in high school? A play or musical.
  6. What is the theme song to your life? “Send Me On My Way” by Rusted Root.

  10. Assuming you had 24 hours to live, what would you do with your remaining hours? I would be flown up to the top of Mount Everest and snowboard down. If I somehow survive, I would then just take a nap and die in my sleep.
