This year’s selected homecoming king and queen were seniors Rex Ramsey and Madison Milam, both crowned during halftime of the homecoming football game.

The homecoming court is a yearly tradition to award a homecoming king and queen, selected by popular vote within the student body. The girls selected to the court alongside Milam were seniors Jackie Dwyer, Sadie Archibald, Shayla Bahr, and Mallory Suits. The boys selected with Ramsey were seniors Kyle Edwards, Eli Rickell, Munch Jones, and Mike Hughes. The court participated in a series of events including interviews on stage, performing party tricks, and sharing their secret Wesleyan crush during a school assembly on September 9. Along with these interviews, the candidates also walked with an escort across the 50 yard line during halftime of the Homecoming football game.

Student government oversaw the interviews this year along with planning new ideas and questions to make the interviews more entertaining. Senior Maya Arora said, “We have added new questions to the interviews this year, including what the contestants favorite brain rot phrases are.” Student government incorporated brain rot to get the crowd more involved by using cultural references. They have had a great time exploring ways to spice up this years pageant along with making it more interesting to watch. Senior President of Student government Wiley Koch said, “Our interviews will ask not only the contestants questions but ask their parents the same ones to see if their answers match up.” The students’ answers compared to the parents never seem to match completely which is found funny by the audience and embarrassing for the candidates. Student government is excited to have organized the 2025 Homecoming Pageant.

The candidates are excited to share about themselves and their Wesleyan experiences. Eli Rickell said, “I am excited to follow my brothers’ footsteps of being on homecoming court. I hope I am as eligible as he was to be selected as king.” Eli has always wanted to be on homecoming court, and he is determined to win. He has the strength of humor and a kind personality to compete with. He looks forward to sharing his story and getting some laughs from the audience in the process.
Kyle Edwards was pleasantly surprised to be selected for homecoming court but also thrilled. Kyle said, “I was hoping I would be selected but was not really sure if I would be. I am excited to share my story and bring my photography skills into my interview.” Kyle has a talent of photography that is often not appreciated enough, so he plans on using his talent to show the class of 2026 how good he is at what he does. Kyle is kind to everyone and is very involved due to his photography of various sports teams. He has a lot to bring to the table and is looking at the experience as a fun new opportunity to show who he truly is.
Rex Ramsey is highly known for his bubbly personality and inclusion of all his peers. Rex said, “I was so hype about being selected for the court. I am loud and have a lot of energy so I am ready to put my full effort into every dance or question I am faced with. I am quirky and plan on showing it.” Rex is all in when it comes to school activities, so he is going to bring a lot of competition to the table with his energy and positive attitude. He hopes to win but also just wants to have fun regardless of the outcome.
Munch Jones is ready to be on homecoming court. He is known for his weirdness but in a good way. Munch always has a joke to tell or a funny comment to make. Munch said, “I am ready to be my full self when I get on that stage. I am weird but that is a good thing when it comes to the pageant. I enjoy finding humor in random things and my classmates enjoy hearing it. I am most excited to bust my best dance moves on the stage.” Munch sounds like he is really excited for the process and doesn’t care as much about taking home the win. He is honored just to be himself in front of the class of 2026 and if he wins it’s a bonus in his mind.
Mike Hughes is known for being kind to everyone he encounters. He is always open to making new friends and embracing new opportunities. Mike said, “I cannot wait to be on homecoming court, although I am kind of nervous about some of the questions.” Mike is participating in something that is typically out of his comfort zone. He is excited to embark on a new opportunity that he has never had before.

Madison Milam is so excited to be on homecoming court following her sisters’ footsteps. Madison said, “I never thought I would be on homecoming court, so I need to brainstorm some unique answers for the questions. I hope I can win but I’m mostly just excited to be a part of it.” Madison looks forward to coming up with some creative answers and participate in the fun process as well.
Mallory Suits is ready to bring her energy and spicy attitude. Mallory said, “I have been waiting for this all of high school and I am ready to give everything to these questions and activities.” Mallory is not only nice to everyone but she also brings her fiery spirit and energy to the competition.
Jackie Dwyer was extremely surprised when she was chosen for the court. Jackie Said, “I was so shocked when I heard my name announced on the intercom. I was not expecting this but I am excited to be involved and I hope to win.” Jackie thinks of herself as an underdog but she is for sure capable of winning. She is kind to everyone she encounters and never fails to say the perfect thing to someone who needs to hear it.
Shayla Bahr is excited to show her athletic abilities on stage. Shayla said, “I have a perfect trick up my sleeve to give me an advantage, I just hope I can carry it out and not mess up. I am excited to have fun with the competition, but I also hope to bring home the win.”
Sadie Archibald was thrilled to find out she had gotten on the court. She has wanted this since freshman year and is confident she has a chance to win. Sadie said, “This is a dream come true for me. I have always wanted to be involved with an event like this. I hope I can make a good impression on the crowd so I can possibly win.”
