Wesleyan “Gives That Blood”

Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood and that number is continuing to increase every day. However, each year, Wesleyan has the opportunity to help contribute to the emergency need for blood.

On Jan. 18, the Red Cross brought all of their equipment and set up a blood drive right in Chapman Library. Having a blood drive at Wesleyan really encourages faculty, staff, students and parents to donate blood at a location that is convenient for them. Keep Reading

A widespread event over the past couple of years with an expression of reform, unity and standing up against society in a way to protect the civil rights and sanctity of the people has been the Women’s March.

Amid controversy in the 2019 Women’s March, followers of the original group accused them of being biased or more favoring of white women; the group is believed to be ignoring real issues that others with diverse backgrounds struggle with on a daily basis. This affected the organization and the movement in a negative way causing the state of the United States and the overall sanity of the groups beliefs to be divided.

From the moment students step on campus, the Wesleyan mission statement is instilled in them through the actions of teachers, administrators and peers. The Statement, “To be a Christian school of academic excellence by providing each student a diverse college preparatory education guided by Christian principles and beliefs; by challenging and nurturing the mind, body and spirit; and by developing stewardship in our changing world.”

The Chick-Fil-A in Peachtree Corners closed at the end of Nov., due to remodeling, but is planning to be re-opened in May 2019. The store at 6105 Peachtree Parkway will be torn down, re-serviced and built back up for fresh new look. The new store will have an updated kitchen, seating and modern drive-thru lane. Local employees will be re-located to the nearby Chick-Fil-A location on Holcomb Bridge. Keep Reading

A month before elections, Georgia citizens are involved doing several things: putting yard signs of candidates out in the yard, setting up voting registration, and advertising for their preferred candidate.

The previous election for the House of Representatives was on November 2016 which means there will be an election this year since representatives only have two-year terms. Elections for the House of Representatives will be occurring not just in Georgia, but across the nation.
