New year, new schedule. Contrary to previous years, the high school began the 2016-2017 school year with a different schedule. The new schedule was diligently crafted by many high school faculty members from various departments, to benefit the Wesleyan students, teachers, and community as a whole.
While the schedule is not entirely different from last year’s, it does include some significant changes.
Instead of going on a typical beach trip with their friends or a family vacation, some Wesleyan students decided to venture out across the world with Moondance Adventures to locations such as Morocco, Tanzania and Bali.
Wesleyan has been locked in AA for a number of years, and it has made quite a name for itself there. Many teams, including tennis, baseball and girls basketball, have won state championships in AA.
However, all of this is about to change. Wesleyan has fewer than 520 students, the threshold required for class AA, so they are now a part of class A. Wesleyan is a part of the largest region in A, and therefore they will be facing a lot of new competition. Although there is some skepticism from the community, this will bring a lot of change to the sports programs creating an overall positive impact at Wesleyan.
Ciao Italia! With just a jump, skip and a hop away, Wesleyan was across the globe in Italy this past summer. They were off, and the students were ready to learn and expand their with through new culture, history and art. Their travels included stops at the famous cities of Verona, Venice, Florence, Assisi, Pompeii, Sorrento, Capri and Rome. When most people think of Italians, they typically think of short, tan and dark haired people, but what they do not know, is Northern Italy populates people who are fairer skinned with lighter hair as a result of their surrounding climate. Their first stop was Verona, Italy, where they were instantly submerged in Italian Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet, is said to be one of the most romantic cities in the world.
