What college are you applying to / going to?

UGA, Auburn, Virginia Tech, Santa Clara and Clemson.

Who was your first Wesleyan crush?

Dylan Jenkins in 6th grade.

What was your most embarrassing Wesleyan moment?

One time I ran into the Plunks and every faculty fellow at Chipotle my sophomore year. This encounter was embarrassing as it was Halloween and I was fully committed to my costume. My costume of course, was the Ghost of George Washington. Naturally, I dressed up in a very conservative ghost costume and powdered wig that hid any shred of my identity. I looked like a little boy and quickly took off my wig for each teacher to greet them.

What is one thing you wished you had done in high school?

Dated Beau Blanton.

If you had 24 hours left to live, what would you do?

Probably throw a quick pity party, then get Chipotle and see where the wind takes me.

What was your dream job when you were a little kid versus what is your dream job now?

I always thought it would be cool to be a dolphin trainer at Sea World, but that hasn’t panned out yet, so we’ll see. Keep Reading

The Game on Everyone’s Minds

in Features by

With 45 million players worldwide, “Fortnite” has become the most popular video game on the market. The online shooter was officially released on Sept. 26, 2017 in conjunction with the multiplayer mode “Battle Royale” which enables players on platforms such as Playstation, Xbox and PC to play with their friends. Astonishingly, “Fortnite” made its debut on the videogame world stage with a price of zero dollars, making its rise to global success even more seamless.

Now, six months after the games release, “Fortnite” has become the “talk of the town” in the Wesleyan community. With GPA’s dropping at a more rapid rate than ever before, as well as the large number of “Fortnite” players at Wesleyan, the standard of academic excellence at Wesleyan is only getting better.  Senior Drake Bursa said, “Fortnite” is the most fraternal game of our time and will go down in history as the GOAT.” [Editors note: GOAT is an acronym for “Greatest Of All Time”] As the excitement continues to build and the hype behind “Fortnite” grows, players continue to chase the ever illusive “Victory Royale”, or as many say, “Another day another dollar.”

Volleyball Sets Up for A New Season

in Sports by

The Wesleyan varsity volleyball team has been preparing for the upcoming season over the summer. With new additions to the team and a new attitude, the volleyball team is excited about the new season. Over the summer, the team had to attend workouts and start practicing.

Junior Grace Tyler said, “We have to attend at least 12 workouts during the summer, it really helps!” Along with workouts, they have been practicing almost every day to prepare themselves to be the best they can be.

Although practice and workouts are challenging, the team had a well-deserved pool party at Senior Madison McKemie’s house. The girls engaged in some super fun games for team bonding and enjoyed some yummy food. The team bonding was a huge success and the team is closer than ever.
