Recipe for Last Minute DIY Halloween Costumes

There are many ways to incorporate your interests into an exciting Halloween costume.

Senior Grayson Ragsdale dressed up one year as a Roy Liechtenstein comic book character, which included “a ton of makeup but was super fun.” In addition to the excitement of wearing something that you created, there are many advantages that come with wearing a DIY (do it yourself) costume, and according to senior Sarah Moon, “you can save money and show off your creativity.”

Senior Cassie Henning said, “I love making my own costumes because I can add my own personal flare.”

Major disclaimer: I am not artistic by any means, so if I am able to make these DIY Halloween costumes all by myself, I know that you can do the same. If you are in a pinch on Oct. 31 and have been too busy to create a look that is grandiose and frightening all at the same time, just follow one of the “recipes” below to master the perfect Halloween look. Wesleyan Teachers Rock Their Favorite Childhood Halloween Costumes

Mr. Cole- Mr. Cole’s favorite Halloween costume is the purple Teletubby, Tiny Winky. This is Mr. Cole’s favorite character. Mr. Cole was older when the show premiered in 1997, but was and is still an avid fan. He loves the color purple, and thought Tinky Winky was the best of the teletubbies because of his name.
Mr. Cole- Mr. Cole’s favorite Halloween costume is the purple Teletubby, Tiny Winky. This is Mr. Cole’s favorite character. Mr. Cole was older when the show premiered in 1997, but was and is still an avid fan. He loves the color purple, and thought Tinky Winky was the best of the teletubbies because of his name.
Ms. Kozlova- Ms. Kozlova’s favorite Halloween costume is Ms. Piggy from the Muppett’s. Ms, K believes that her attitude and personality coincide with Ms. Piggy’s. Ms. Kozlova also considers Ms. Piggy a role model. She believed that her destiny was to be as famous as Ms. Piggy.

She is also considered the self-proclaimed leader of the powderpuff girls similar to Mrs. Shupert’s role as the self-proclaimed leader of the school.
