Omicron Team Breaks Record with Over 100 Volunteers

Service could not be exemplified better than by the Wesleyan Omicron Service Society. Omicron is an after-school activity where many Wesleyan high school students volunteer to serve the Peachtree Corners community. While they go to many different locations, they mainly focus on tutoring younger children and spending time with the elderly. Members of the team, including sophomore Elizabeth Schneider, think of Omicron as an “enriching opportunity to serve others.” It gives students the opportunity to reach out and improve not only the children’s lives, but also the future of Peachtree Corners. Wesleyan Faculty Go Back to School

As December arrives quickly, Wesleyan students find themselves stressing over their final exams and report cards. A familiar feeling that returns every year. However, Wesleyan students are not the only ones stressing out over papers and finals. Many Wesleyan teachers have gone back to school themselves, taking classes at night in pursuit of advanced degrees. These classes are with other teachers who are pursuing the same type of advanced degrees. In fact, one group of Wesleyan teachers have decided to go through this process together.

Wesleyan teachers Brian Krehmeyer, Mitchell Mayfield, Leah Baughn, Jamie Hemken, Alex Bufton and Kali Sessions are taking night school classes together at Wesleyan pursing a masters degree. They typically meet every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The program that these teachers are involved in is based out of Gordon College, which is a Christian college in Wenham, MA. Monday at the 201: Students Engage in Young Life

After a long Monday of schoolwork and sports practices, dozens of Wesleyan high school students come together at “the 201” to enjoy Young Life Club. From dressing up in themed costumes to dancing and singing with friends, everyone is bound to have a memorable experience at Club. Young Life is a unique way for students to build new relationships outside of school with friends, leaders and Jesus.
