New Hobbies Arise

Life in quarantine has resulted in students and teachers having much more flexibility and even some free time one their hands compared to a regular day at school. Senior Hannah Steiner said, “Since I have always loved being busy, quarantine has slowed everything down. It has been nice to have a break.” With all this free time and even some levels of boredom, students and teachers have begun to develop new hobbies that they would not necessarily do if school were to be in session.

With the 2010s decade coming to an end, the world is saying goodbye to a time of interesting trends and memories. The favorites movies, television shows, celebrities, songs, devices and trends of the decade have been hot topics of discussion recently, and Wesleyan’s high school students chose their personal favorites from their childhood years.

Movies:

2010s movies impacted peoples’ minds and hearts, and the top movies made the decade memorable. According to Statistica, the top genres of the decade include adventure, action, drama, comedy and thrillers. Movies such as “Tangled” (2010), “The Hunger Games” (2012), “The Fault in Our Stars” (2014), “Inside Out” (2015), “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” (2015) and many more made their mark in the first half of the decade. More recently, Disney’s “Moana” (2016), “Black Panther” (2018) and “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” (2018) reached the top of the charts as successful films. Keep Reading
