Grand Opening of New Town Center Rapidly Approaches

After the incorporation of Peachtree Corners in 2012, several citizen surveys were taken to determine what the city’s priorities should be. The survey indicated that the citizens of Peachtree Corners ranked a town center as the city’s next top priority.  Residents wanted a central location to gather for events and other activities, essentially people wanted a unique place that would establish the city’s identity. New Town Center Brings Excitement to Wesleyan

The Peachtree Corners Town Center is in motion. The town center is planned to be built across from the Forum, by where Sprouts and Zoës Kitchen is located.

When interviewed, Jennifer Howard, the Volunteers Administrator of Peachtree Corners, said “The town center is going to begin construction in December and it is expected to take 18 months; so that means by spring 2018 we should see the town center finished.” The town center will hold restaurants, shops and an outdoor amphitheater. “[It will be] a family-friendly community,” Howard said.

Wesleyan Plays Important Role in Developing Peachtree Corners

As the city of Peachtree Corners undergoes a variety of changes, the Wesleyan community has the opportunity to be a part of various new developments. Wesleyan has been a part of Peachtree Corners (formerly known as Norcross) since it moved to the campus on Spalding Drive years ago. The relationship between the school and the rest of the community has been productive and healthy, and all signs show that Wesleyan will continue to thrive within Peachtree Corners as the city continues to grow.
