With the summer comes a lot of different things: sunburns, vacations and beards, if you are a boy. One major component of summer is music. The Green & Gold decided to ask high school students of every grade to share their summer favorites.


These songs include both old and new songs. Some of the old songs include: “We Didn’t Start the Fire” by Billy Joel, “Box of Rain” by Grateful Dead and “Take me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver. Some of the new songs include “The Middle” by Zedd, “No Tears Left to Cry” by Ariana Grande and “Speechless” by Dan + Shay.

With less than ideal conditions including heavy winds, exhausted musicians, an unfinished performance and strong competition, the Marching Wolves were both shocked and excited to discover their numerous victories at the Oconee Classic Marching Contest on Sept. 30.

At the competition hosted by Baldwin High School, the Wesleyan band faced 19 others in five classifications, ranging from bands with under 40 members to those with over 400. As the classification is determined by the number of woodwinds and brass members in a marching band, Wesleyan is numerically set to perform in the single A division; however, to give them the advantage of a later performance and a larger audience, the Marching Wolves chose to perform against two other bands in the AA classification.

Look what you made [her] do. When a minimalistic, black furry coated Taylor Swift stands above a mound of her old personas, kicking them in the face as they try to reach her, it is clear that the old Taylor is dead, and the new one is here to stay. Critics can say what they want about Swift’s comeback, but this article will have nothing to do with the endless criticizing and nitpicking of Ms. Swift. As a loyal Taylor Swift fan, I pledged my allegiance to the star a long time ago; therefore, my tolerance for fake fans is slim to none.

When school started in August, most students began to perceive their social lives as “over” or “done for.” Music Midtown, however, is the last opportunity for fun before the full stress of the school year kicks in and social lives are concluded while obtaining a trendy façade.
