Tried harder freshman and sophomore year of cross country.

I would go skydiving.
What was your dream job when you were a little kid versus what is your dream job now?
I wanted to be a professional baseball player, and now it is to be the CEO of a business company.

What college are you applying to / going to?
I’m applying to UGA, Georgia Tech, UVA, UNC, Furman, Vanderbilt, Davidson, Columbia and Harvard.
Who was your first Wesleyan crush?
George Doane in Kindergarten. We were narrators in the Three Billy Goats’ Gruff together.
What was your most embarrassing Wesleyan moment?
My most embarrassing moment happened in Ms. Dixon’s 7th grade science class. I was sitting in the back next to Patterson, and I guess that I had just gotten back from the bathroom. I was minding my own business, listening to Ms. Dixon, when Patterson proceeded to awkwardly tell me (he didn’t really say anything, just kind of pointed and made a weird noise) that the zipper of my skirt was undone, and my purple and white polka dot underwear was very clearly on display.
What is one thing you wished you had done in high school?
I wish that I’d gotten involved in student government.
If you had 24 hours left to live, what would you do?
I would eat baguettes, pain-suisse (the best dessert I’ve ever had), and QT slushies (controversial, I know) and then I’d get all my friends and family together and go to the lake.
What was your dream job when you were a little kid versus what is your dream job now?
I don’t really remember having a job that I was set on as a kid, but I’m pretty sure I wanted to be an artist in pre-school. I now realize that I have no future whatsoever in anything art related, so I want to go into the medical field and become a doctor of some sort, possibly a neurologist.

What was your most embarrassing Wesleyan moment?
Freshman year as a whole, there really isn’t one specific moment.
What is one thing you wished you had done in high school?
Tried in general… Just kidding mom ;), I really wish I did honors world freshman year.
If you had 24 hours left to live, what would you do?
Well, I would go to Brian’s house and give Mr. Sinclair his portable charger that I stole. Then I would steal Brian’s car and drive to that one sushi place by my house where all my friends would have a last supper. At the end, Ryan and will sing My Way, and then I will drive Brian’s car off a cliff just to make him mad.
What was your dream job when you were a little kid versus what is your dream job now?
When I was a kid I really wanted to be a scientist for some reason (I’m pretty sure it was just because I really liked Myth-busters), but now I’m drawn to government and international business

Liam Coxhead in Kindergarten.
What was your most embarrassing Wesleyan moment?
Junior year, I was one of the MC’s for the senior homecoming pageant. For some reason, I called out Alva Jones in the crowd (who was a senior) during the program. Instead of saying Alva, I very loudly mispronounced his name as “Ulva.” I don’t even know if he noticed, but almost all my friends did. I still feel weird about it.
What is one thing you wished you had done in high school?
Try pole vaulting in track.
If you had 24 hours left to live, what would you do?
Fly to Big Sky, Montana with family and friends and ski all day and night.
What was your dream job when you were a little kid versus what is your dream job now?
When I was little, I wanted to be a professional gardener. Now, I’d like to be a counselor or write for a big business.
Miller Thomason

Vanderbilt, Furman and Sewanee.
Who was your first Wesleyan crush?
Kat Saylor, sophomore year.
What was your most embarrassing Wesleyan moment?
One time I had to memorize a song in French and then sing it in front of the class, and it went terribly.
What is one thing you wished you had done in high school?
I wish I had tried another sport, especially football. I played in middle school and was pretty good, so I regret not continuing in high school.
If you had 24 hours left to live, what would you do?
I would throw a massive party with everyone invited and try to get Migos to perform.
What was your dream job when you were a little kid versus what is your dream job now?
As a kid I wanted to dig up dinosaurs around the world, but now my dream job is to play video games for a living or be an astronaut.

Who was your first Wesleyan crush?
David Anderson in 7th grade.
What was your most embarrassing Wesleyan moment?
When I decided to cut my hair to my ears the summer before my first year at Wesleyan in 7th grade. Not cute.
What is one thing you wished you had done in high school?
Dated Jake McClesky when I was a freshman.
If you had 24 hours left to live, what would you do?
I would go to Whole Foods, shop around, and drink kombucha. Then I would go to Bartaco for dinner and and get on Marta. I would ride Marta all the way to the airport and spend my last few hours people watching in the airport. Also, at some point I would pull a fire alarm.
What was your dream job when you were a little kid versus what is your dream job now?
When I was a little kid I wanted to be a flying ice cream woman. I wanted to fly around in a truck and sell ice cream. Since I’m still waiting for the flying ice cream truck to be invented, I want to be a nurse practitioner and missionary nurse now.

Who was your first Wesleyan crush?
Mary Ann Manley in first grade. I asked her to go to Fernbank (Science Center) with me and she said no.
What was your most embarrassing Wesleyan moment?
Probably the time I shot a gun backstage in Powell Theater. We were rehearsing for Kiss Me, Kate (the winter musical) and I saw Laura Von Bargen pick up one of the prop guns that were used in the show. Naturally, I grabbed the other one. Laura pulled the trigger on hers and nothing happened so like the naive little sophomore that I was I assumed that mine wouldn’t fire either. I was wrong. I pulled the trigger and the gun immediately let out a huge bang and gave off smoke. Fearing for my life, I ran to the guys dressing room and began to wash my hands (I’m not sure why). About 10 minutes later I returned to the scene of the crime only to find Mr. Simmons questioning the witnesses about the identity of the perpetrator. Back to my hiding spot I went. A few minutes later I emerged, and Laura and I went to Mr. Simmons, but the whole experience has traumatized me for life.
What is one thing you wished you had done in high school?
Honor Council, Student Government and Water Polo.
If you had 24 hours left to live, what would you do?
I would contact the original cast of “Hamilton” and get them to preform for me.
What was your dream job when you were a little kid versus what is your dream job now?
My dream job as a kid was to be Steve Irwin. My dream job now is something that I’m happy doing.
Katie Tanner

Who was your first Wesleyan crush?
Pepper, who left after kindergarten. But George Doane and I got married, if that counts.
What was your most embarrassing Wesleyan moment?
I think I was a freshman, when Coach Myrick asked if I wanted to ride down to the lake fields with her. So, we walked to her car, she unlocked it, and got in. I could not figure out how to open the door for my life. It wasn’t complicated. But it looked like there was a button that I had to hold down and simultaneously open the door? I couldn’t get it to work. After a minute of watching me struggle, I’m pretty sure Coach Myrick said something along the lines of, “Katie. You just have to pull it.” She was right.
What is one thing you wished you had done in high school?
I wish I had tried harder in cross country freshman and sophomore year- Coach Yoder was right. You’ll never regret pushing yourself. I wish I had learned that sooner.
If you had 24 hours left to live, what would you do?
Hopefully, this would be a 10 am – 10 am type of deal. I think that would be an adequate time table for having two separate brunch meals. Got to focus on the important things.
What was your dream job when you were a little kid versus what is your dream job now?
I really, really wanted to work at Sea World. As part of my continued interest in marine life, I would love to work in BP Oil’s “New Oceans” division! All jokes aside, after seeing Top Gun, the dream job is being a fighter pilot in the 80’s. God bless Tom Cruise.

My phone went off in class one time, but I didn’t get a detention.

I wanted to be a lawyer but now I want to fight.

Having to spend most of prom night in a science classroom because I had to use the dissection tweezers to pull out a glass shard from my foot.
What is one thing you wished you had done in high school?
Put myself out there a little more. Make more friends.
If you had 24 hours left to live, what would you do?
Climb a mountain, confess my feelings to everyone I love and convert to a religion fully.
What was your dream job when you were a little kid versus what is your dream job now?
I wanted to be a popstar when I was a kid. Now I want to be an advocate/representative for the preservation of wildlife.
