Lidia Zamora:

  1. Where did you go to college/what is your degree? Oglethorpe University in Brookhaven, Ga. And a B.S. in Biology.
  2. What made you want to work at Wesleyan? After I interviewed, I wanted to work at Wesleyan because. . . It is the best place to work, I met incredible people, we can worship and talk about God here, I like green and gold, I love biology and environmental science, and the teaching position available was for those courses, It is close to home and It was an answer to a prayer.
  3. What are three things you can’t live without? God, a planner, and coffee.
  4. If your life were a movie, what actor would you cast as yourself? My life would not be a movie. It would be a book because some things can’t be captured in movies. Words are more powerful and descriptive. If my life were a book, I would like F. Scott Fitzgerald or King Solomon to write that book.
  5. What is something you wish you had done in high school?
  6. If you weren’t a teacher, what would you do? Be a student. I love to learn.
  7. Where is the coolest place you have ever traveled? Charleston, SC. It was my honeymoon destination. Also, Charleston is beautiful and historic. It’s like traveling back in time with a lot of color.

Randy Cailor:

  1. Where did you go to college/what is your degree? Master of Engineering from Cornell University.
  2. What made you want to work at Wesleyan? I can be who I am in Christ while teaching at a school of excellence.
  3. What are three things you can’t live without? The Lord, my wife and my three daughters.
  4. If your life were a movie, what actor would you cast as yourself? Jeff Foxworthy (but my life is definitely NOT movie worthy).
  5. What is something you wish you had done in high school? Not quit basketball.
  6. If you weren’t a teacher, what would you do? I would be a structural Engineer.
  7. Where is the coolest place you have ever traveled? Maui, Hawaii.

Ari Young:

  1. Where did you go to college/what is your degree? I have a Bachelor’s degree from Georgia Tech and a Master’s degree from Georgia Tech in International Affairs. I also have a Master of Education degree from Georgia State.
  2. What made you want to work at Wesleyan? Wesleyan has such a great reputation and everyone I have met encouraged me to consider the move. Once coming to the school, everyone from the administration on down was incredibly friendly and welcoming.
  3. What are three things you can’t live without? I can’t live without regular trips to the movies, trips to Disney and travelling.
  4. If your life were a movie, what actor would you cast as yourself? I’m not sure what actor would play me, but he would have to be extremely geeky and love “dad” jokes.
  5. What is something you wish you had done in high school? I can’t think of anything I wish I had done in high school.
  6. If you weren’t a teacher, what would you do? I would be a political Consultant or work for Disney.
  7. Where is the coolest place you have ever traveled? I don’t know if it’s the coolest but outside of the US, I’d say Geneva, Switzerland. In the U.S. I’d say Montana.

Andy Randrup:

  1. Where did you go to college/what is your degree? I went to the United States Military Academy, West Point, and earned my B.S. Mathematics. Then I attended Potsdam College of the State University of New York, and earned a M.S. Teaching Secondary Mathematics.
  2. What made you want to work at Wesleyan? I love how intentional Wesleyan is about carrying out its mission.
  3. What are three things you can’t live without? Jesus, serving people, staying active.
  4. If your life were a movie, what actor would you cast as yourself? I like to think Mel Gibson in Braveheart but more likely Steve Carell in “Get Smart.”
  5. What is something you wish you had done in high school?
  6. If you weren’t a teacher, what would you do? Fly military jets or helicopters.
  7. Where is the coolest place you have ever traveled? The Eagle’s Nest in Berchtesgaden, Germany…Google the images!

Garrett Adams:

  1. Where did you go to college/what is your degree? I went to Georgia State University in downtown Atlanta and got my degree in Speech Communication, which is basically Public Speaking and Rhetoric.
  2. What made you want to work at Wesleyan? I have always wanted to work in a school and be a teacher because I always loved school growing up. I heard about the Fellow program through a friend and thought that would be a great start to a teaching career!
  3. What are three things you can’t live without? I can’t live without my contacts, my Bible and Starbucks Peppermint Mochas. (I have an addiction)
  4. If your life were a movie, what actor would you cast as yourself? If he were alive, I would pick Heath Ledger but a living one would be Owen Wilson, mostly because I’ve been told that we look alike but also because he’s usually in a comedy and I like comedies or family movie and I love those movies.
  5. What is something you wish you had done in high school? I wish I had done a drama play or musical in high school. I don’t really sing or act but it is a kind of a family tradition to have people in that department and I think it would have been really fun.
  6. If you weren’t a teacher, what would you do? If I weren’t a teacher, I would love to either own my own coffee shop or be an ophthalmologist. I wasn’t great at science but I have always been fascinated by going to the eye doctor. Also, I was a barista for a while so I really love coffee.
  7. Where is the coolest place you have ever traveled? I’ve been to St.Maarten (before Irma) and that was beautiful. It is an island in the Caribbean that is half owned by the French and the other half by the Dutch.

Ellen Riggins:

  1. Where did you go to college/what is your degree? Samford University, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Spanish with minors in Religion and Communication.
  2. What made you want to work at Wesleyan? The faculty at Wesleyan are so very interesting, thoughtful, welcoming and intelligent people. From my interview day, each person I met blew me away, showing me an important piece of the character and mission of Wesleyan. I’m so thankful to be at a school with such people!
  3. What are three things you can’t live without? Peanut Butter, exercise and Spotify.
  4. If your life were a movie, what actor would you cast as yourself? Connie Britton.
  5. What is something you wish you had done in high school? I wish I had been more intentional about getting to know my teachers and also wish I had played volleyball for all four years instead of just one.
  6. If you weren’t a teacher, what would you do? If I weren’t a teacher, I would work in college athletic administration or (dream world) be a photographer at a cool concert venue like Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado.
  7. Where is the coolest place you have ever traveled? One of the coolest places I’ve ever traveled to is Jackson Hole, Wyoming!
