What college are you going to/applying to?

I am applying to Clemson, Auburn, UGA, Tennessee and UNC Chapel Hill.

Who was your first Wesleyan crush? When?

Holden Wilder in kindergarten.

If you were stranded on an island, what three things would you bring with you?

I would bring my sister Julia, a lot of water and a box of cinnamon apple GoGo squeeZ.

What was your dream job when you were a little kid versus what is your dream job now?

When I was little, I wanted to be a pop star like Hannah Montana and live a double life. Now I want to be a pediatric nurse.

Where do you expect to see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years, I hope I am starting a family, living somewhere cool and doing a job that I really like.

What was your most embarrassing moment at Wesleyan?

On the first day of freshman year, I walked into the lobby, went to hug someone and immediately dropped my drink all over the floor. Almost 15 people were forced to help clean it up and it was really embarrassing.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?

I would eat sushi every day.

What are you most excited and scared for when entering your first year of college?

I am most excited to be more independent and meet new people. The thing that probably scares me the most is leaving all my friends from Wesleyan.

Grinds My Gears

in Backpage by

Sam Schmitt:

Harrison Gracey:

“What really grinds my gears is when you try to get a Powerade, but the machine spits out water… it ruins my day.”

The Game on Everyone’s Minds

in Features by

With 45 million players worldwide, “Fortnite” has become the most popular video game on the market. The online shooter was officially released on Sept. 26, 2017 in conjunction with the multiplayer mode “Battle Royale” which enables players on platforms such as Playstation, Xbox and PC to play with their friends. Astonishingly, “Fortnite” made its debut on the videogame world stage with a price of zero dollars, making its rise to global success even more seamless.

Now, six months after the games release, “Fortnite” has become the “talk of the town” in the Wesleyan community. With GPA’s dropping at a more rapid rate than ever before, as well as the large number of “Fortnite” players at Wesleyan, the standard of academic excellence at Wesleyan is only getting better.  Senior Drake Bursa said, “Fortnite” is the most fraternal game of our time and will go down in history as the GOAT.” [Editors note: GOAT is an acronym for “Greatest Of All Time”] As the excitement continues to build and the hype behind “Fortnite” grows, players continue to chase the ever illusive “Victory Royale”, or as many say, “Another day another dollar.”

2017: New Year, New You

in Editorial by

With the coming of the New Year and the calendar refreshing, people are given the opportunity of a fresh start and a clean slate. With this new beginning comes a time of evaluating your last year’s self, creating goals and making changes to make the New Year the best yet.

New Year’s resolutions usually maintain a bad reputation. Typically by Jan. 7 these resolutions are long gone and everyone is back to being their normal mediocre selves, the same they were last year. “I have never fulfilled a New Year’s Resolution I have made in the past,” Faculty Fellow, Claire Coward said, “One year I resolved to never look in the mirror, but I missed myself too much after two hours.”
