Team Bonding: Keeping the “One Body” Theme within Wesleyan Sports

The Varsity boy’s baseball team uses games and activities to bring their team closer together. Head Coach Brian Krehmeyer said, “Our plan differs each year, but activities we have engaged in to build team chemistry includes on-campus scavenger hunts, basketball and volleyball and ping pong tournaments, the challenge of escaping from a break-out room, battles on the Whirly Ball court, laser tag games, paint ball wars, putt-putt golf, and races around Andretti.” It is crucial to establish a close knit bond so the “one body” theme can be exhibited. Junior Griffin Massey said, “We have a tradition of going to Willy’s after every win, they kind of sponsor us.” Traditions that consist of food related activity always brings a group together because of the shared love of a particular thing.

Wesleyan Blossoms with Spring Sports and Activities

Every spring, people are stuck between wanting to spend money on food and all the new, seasonal clothes and not spending any money, so they can save up for summer vacations, but there are many fun activities to do that are completely free and local. For example, go to the Wesleyan lake or any other local park and fish or have a picnic with the ducks and a few friends. Living so close to Atlanta, there are so many places to discover. Be a tourist in your own town and take a walk on the BeltLine, visit a museum downtown or try different ice cream shops in the city. As the days turn into night and the temperature starts to cool, start a bonfire and cozy up with a bunch of friends while roasting marshmallows. From the Olympic trials to the torch relays, the opening ceremonies, the Games and finally to the closing ceremonies, the Olympic Games are a world-wide event that bring a competitive spirit to the world along with uniting the world through this competition. The 14-day games consist of various winter sports including curling, snowboarding, speed skating, ice hockey, figure skating and many more. The 2018 Winter Olympics will be held in PyeongChang, South Korea (about two hours away from Seoul). The event’s estimated cost is only $10 billion. While that seems expensive, in comparison to the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games, it is five times less expensive. Keep Reading
